DESCRIPTION

Sourced from 18-year-old vines grown at 300m elevation in Walker Bay, this Chenin Blanc reflects the region’s sandstone-on-clay soils and strong Atlantic influence. Grapes were hand-harvested in March 2024 after a long ripening season that delivered concentration and freshness. Fermentation took place half in concrete eggs and half in third-fill French oak barrels, followed by 10 months of lees ageing for texture and complexity. Bottled at 14%.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Bright and zesty, with aromas of fresh quince, green apple, and citrus zest. Hints of white peach and a subtle mineral salinity echo the maritime terroir, while gentle lees contact adds a faint nutty, biscuity undertone.

Palate: Crisp and finely poised, showcasing layers of tangy citrus, green apple, and crunchy pear. The interplay of concrete egg and seasoned oak lends a rounded mid-palate, with delicate notes of stone fruit and a creamy textural nuance.

Finish: Clean, refreshing, and persistent, carried by a lively line of acidity and subtle saline minerality.
