DESCRIPTION
Made from 100% Chenin Blanc (locally known as “Steen”), sourced from vines grown on coastal soils in the Western Cape. Grapes are hand-picked early in the morning, gently pressed and fermented in stainless-steel vats with temperature control, then bottled after a short lees contact (approx. four months) without oak influence. Bottled at 13%. (Bottle size 750ml)
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Bright and inviting, citrus zest (lime, lemon) mingles with pear and hints of white peach; subtle floral notes (honeysuckle or wild white blossom) add a gentle perfume; there’s a light mineral/stone-dust nuance giving freshness and clarity.
Palate: Crisp and vibrant, with lively acidity driving flavours of green apple, lemon-peel, pear and a touch of light tropical (ripe pineapple or guava emerging gently). The mid-palate shows a clean, almost saline lift, lean but with pleasant textural weight; there’s a hint of stone fruit in the background (white peach or soft apricot).
Finish: Bright and persistent. Acidity remains fresh and zesty, giving the wine energy and lift. The finish ends clean, with a lingering dry, slightly chalky mineral note that leaves the palate refreshed and cleansed.
