More from All Whiskies R2,001 to R5,000
A limited edition blended malt from Compass Box, inspired by François Massialot, the 17th-century French chef at the Palace of Versailles who is credited with writing the first recipe for crème brûlée. Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon barrels and custom American white oak barrels that have been deeply toasted and charred, the whisky is composed of Ardbeg (0.5%), Speyburn (7.2%), Clynelish (39%) and Benrinnes (53.3%), and bottled in August 2025. 8,556 bottles produced. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 49%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: Immediate impressions of caramelised sugar crust, vanilla bean pods, poached pear and buttery Danish pastry.
Palate: Thick and rich, showcasing clotted cream, honeyed malt, broiled peaches, followed by tarte tatin sweetness, toasted sugar and a whisper of smoke.
Finish: Long, smooth and indulgent, lingering with burnt toffee, nutmeg spice and a subtle vanilla-custard echo.
