A small batch release from Lochlea, a farm distillery in Ayrshire in the Lowlands. This is Batch 2, released in June 2024 after the first batch in 2023. Distilled in 2018 and 2019 from barley grown on the Lochlea farm, and matured in a combination of Pedro Ximénez sherry butts, Oloroso sherry butts and STR (shaved, toasted and re-charred) red wine barriques, with a greater proportion of PX. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at a cask strength of 60%.
Nose: Apples and orange marmalade, followed by peach syrup.
Palate: Floral notes of rose petals and wild lavender.
Finish: Peppery, giving way to dried fruits.
