DESCRIPTION

Made from 100% Chardonnay grown high up on the Helderberg Mountains, these vineyards sit at the highest point of the farm, overlooking False Bay and fully exposed to cooling southeasterly winds. Grapes were handpicked in the last week of January and cold-soaked for 24 hours before fermentation in 2nd-fill French oak. Malolactic fermentation was completed in barrel, and the wine matured for 10 months in French oak (20% new, the balance 2nd and 3rd fill), with three months of lees contact adding depth and texture. Bottled at 13.5%.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Fresh and inviting, with orchard fruits at the core—pear and apple—layered with ripe melon and pineapple. Subtle undertones of vanilla, toast, and butter add finesse from the oak.

Palate: Elegant and rounded, showing a generous mix of soft orchard fruit, melon, and tropical pineapple. The mid-palate is broad and creamy, lifted by well-integrated oak tones of toasted nuts and gentle spice.

Finish: Balanced and persistent, with a fine seam of acidity keeping the wine fresh. Notes of buttered brioche and vanilla linger alongside the fruit, offering both richness and restraint.
