DESCRIPTION:

Beeslaar Chardonnay 2025 is a premium South African white wine produced by renowned winemaker Abrie Beeslaar, using grapes sourced from vineyards in Stellenbosch and Barrydale in the Western Cape. The 2025 vintage experienced generous winter rainfall followed by mild, dry conditions, resulting in a smaller crop with excellent fruit concentration and natural acidity. Sourced from vines aged between 14 and 19 years, the grapes were hand-harvested and whole-bunch pressed before fermentation in French oak barrels. The wine matured for 12 months on its lees in French oak, of which 15% was new, adding complexity while preserving freshness and varietal character. Bottled at 13.5% ABV in a 750ml bottle.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Layered aromas of citrus zest, dried peach and white stone fruit, complemented by subtle vanilla, gentle oak spice, buttery nuances and delicate orange blossom.
Palate: Fresh and elegantly textured, displaying white peach, mandarin and bright lime zest. Well-integrated acidity balances the wine's weight, while restrained oak contributes subtle richness and savoury complexity.
Finish: Long, vibrant and citrus-driven, with lingering stone fruit, fresh lime and delicate oak spice.
