DESCRIPTION

A Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon from Stark-Condé, produced from estate vineyards in the Jonkershoek Valley. The 2023 is a Cabernet-led Bordeaux-style blend comprising 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec, 2% Petit Sirah and 1% Cabernet Franc. Following a short cold soak, the wine was naturally fermented on the skins before malolactic fermentation and maturation for 20 months in 300-litre French oak barrels, with approximately 30% new oak. Bottled without fining or filtration. Bottled at 14% ABV

TASTING NOTES:

Nose: Blackberry and cassis lead the nose, complemented by tea leaf, cedar and subtle mocha notes.

Palate: Rich and polished, with concentrated dark fruit, black cherry and plum supported by mocha, fine-grained tannins and well-balanced acidity.

Finish: Long and dry, with lingering dark fruit, cedar and finely structured tannins characteristic of Cabernet Sauvignon from the Jonkershoek Valley.
