DESCRIPTION

The Khulu Umqhele Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 is the flagship expression from Khulu Fine Wine, crafted from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grown in the Western Cape, South Africa. Named Umqhele—the isiZulu word for "The Crown"—this premium release reflects the brand's commitment to producing elegant, age-worthy wines. The 2018 vintage was matured in French oak barrels to enhance structure and complexity, resulting in a full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon with refined tannins, concentrated dark fruit and well-integrated oak. Bottled at 13.5% ABV.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Expressive aromas of blackcurrant, cassis and ripe blackberry are layered with cedar, tobacco leaf and subtle oak spice, creating a classic Cabernet bouquet.

Palate: Rich flavours of dark berries, black cherry and plum are complemented by notes of dark chocolate, vanilla and graphite. Fine-grained tannins and balanced acidity provide depth, elegance and excellent structure.

Finish: Long and persistent, with lingering black fruit, savoury spice and beautifully integrated oak, leaving a polished and refined finish.
