DESCRIPTION
From orchards in the Domfrontais region of Normandy, Comte Louis de Lauriston Fine Calvados is crafted from a blend of cider apples and pears, including traditional poiré varieties such as Plant de Blanc. The fruit grows on schist and granite soils that lend a firm mineral backbone. Harvested in autumn, the apples and pears are crushed and pressed in layered jute bags and racks before the juice ferments slowly through winter in wooden casks. Distillation is by single-pass column still, preserving freshness and natural orchard character. The spirit is matured for at least two years in older oak casks to balance fruit purity and gentle wood influence. Bottled at 40%. (Bottle size 750ml)
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Bright orchard fruit — crisp apple, fresh pear and poiré blossom — with subtle floral tones, light oak spice and a clean mineral hint.
Palate: Light to medium bodied, showing juicy apple and pear flavours with delicate oak, soft spice and a smooth, lively texture.
Finish: Moderate length with lingering apple skin, white pear and a trace of mineral freshness fading into soft wood spice.
