DESCRIPTION

Trizanne Benede-Duivenshokrivier Chardonnay 2024 is crafted from grapes sourced entirely from the Lower Duivenshokriver ward on the Cape South Coast, between Riversdale, Vermaaklikheid and Heidelberg. Planted on limestone soils and just 10km from the ocean, the site benefits from cool ripening conditions that yield fruit of great minerality and focus. Harvested in the first week of February 2024, the grapes were partly whole-bunch pressed and partly crushed, then naturally fermented in a mix of new, second- and third-fill French oak barrels. The wine matured on lees for ten months before blending and bottling under natural cork. Production was limited to 1,930 bottles. Bottled at 13%. (Bottle size 750ml)

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Rich and perfumed with lemon curd, white peach and subtle chalky limestone notes. A gentle saline character emphasises the mineral core.

Palate: Opulent yet precise, with creamy textures balanced by bright citrus and orchard fruit. Framed by a fine mineral backbone, giving structure and elegance without heaviness.

Finish: Long, refined and balanced, combining crisp freshness with subtle richness.
