Balanced and complex sherry
"Just in time for winter with a great sherry WB exclusive! Fantastic sherry influence while still being balanced and not one dimensional. (Also great to see Berry Brothers and Rudd releases in SA for the first time 🙌🏽)"
A single cask release selected by and bottled exclusively for WhiskyBrother&Co.
Our first release with independent bottler Berry Bros. & Rudd, a British wine and spirits merchant that dates back over 300 years to 1698. This single cask is from an undisclosed distillery located in the town of Rothes, Speyside. Distilled in 2004, matured in a sherry butt for 16 years, and bottled in 2021. Only 202 bottles were produced. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at a cask strength of 55.3%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: Wood spice, sticky tabacco and sultanas. Underneath denser earthy notes, some fresh fruit emerges.
Palate: Rich with juicy malt and oak with plum jam on whole-wheat toast. Dried apricots and cinnamon, very mouth-coating.
Finish: Warming sherry spice with a long finish.
Overall rating: 5.0 / 5 from 1 reviews.
