DESCRIPTION

A 2018 Stellenbosch Cabernet Franc produced by Raats Family Wines and winemaker Bruwer Raats. Made from 100% Cabernet Franc, the wine was matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, with approximately 25% new oak. The 2018 vintage is medium-bodied and structured around fresh acidity and fine-grained tannins, with the variety's characteristic combination of dark fruit, herbal aromatics and mineral notes. Bottled at 13.5% ABV

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Blackberry and red berry fruit with rosemary, lavender and thyme, followed by nutmeg, clove, star anise, graphite and subtle herbal notes.

Palate: Blackberry, black cherry and dark red fruit with graphite and mineral notes. Medium-bodied with fresh acidity, fine-grained tannins and a savoury herbal and spicy character.

Finish: Long and precise, with lingering dark fruit, fine tannins, spice and mineral notes.
