Grapes for this 11th vintage of Luddite Chenin 2022 were sourced from Luddite Farm House Block harvested on 8 February 2022 and Luddite Farm Dog Block harvested on 9 and 23 February 2022. Grape processing is kept simple, after crushing and destalking, it is left to naturally start fermenting. Fermented on the skins for 22 days with punch-downs twice a day to wet the cap and keep the ferment homogeneous. Thereafter pressed directly to barrel with as much sediment as possible. While in barrel, the wine undergoes regular batonnage, this allows the wine to fill out and adds texture. 2,500 bottles were produced. Bottled at 12%. (Bottle size 750ml)

Nose: Citrus blossom, spice and fromage. After a while, nose opens up to give hints of white fruit and the slightest touch of honey wax.

Palate: Fresh lean entry. Very dry mid-palate with grapefruit pithiness, green plums and white fruit.

Finish: The finish is long, lean and salty.
