"This is a truly one of a kind dram. Initially it presents as Muscovado sugar, honeysuckle, melon and vanilla on the nose. On the palate you are taken on a delectable journey through honey, treacle tart, candied orange peels and Christmas cake. The finish is long, spicy and carried by the high ABV and you are left with a satisfying icing sugar type sweetness."
"I have tried a few rum cask finished drams and none have impressed me hugely. This one however is simply superb - lovely nose, balanced sweetness on the palate and a lovely long finish - the ABV is also not as obvious as one would expect. Another WB winner and a beautiful Kavalan at that. One of my top 3 drams in 2019."
"By speechless I mean you get lost in the flavors for a while just after the Solist's ABV hits the right nerves. Cask strength, single cask and first of it's kind available in SA, I'd say you can't go wrong by buying a bottle and drinking it. With summer on the way, a sweet and fruity dram is a great one to have around. It is a beautiful whisky!!"
