DESCRIPTION
From 25 hectares of Folle Blanche vines rooted in the sandy, siliceous sables fauves soils of Bas-Armagnac, Domaine Tariquet crafts this estate-grown eau-de-vie with precision. The terroir, low in nutrients and rich in iron oxides, produces low vigour vines with concentrated aromatics. Harvested in early autumn, the base wine is fermented at low temperature to preserve delicate fruit and floral character before being single-distilled in a traditional wood-fired copper alembic. The spirit then spends a minimum of 8 years in French oak from Allier and Nièvre, aged through a sequence of new and seasoned casks with light “blonde” toasting designed to frame, not overwhelm, the varietal purity. Bottled at its natural cask strength of 50.5%. (Bottle size 750ml)
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Fresh plum, orange zest and sappy vanilla with subtle resinous tones, lifted by a savoury touch of pine and gentle oak spice.
Palate: Intense yet finely drawn, with citrus and stone fruit interwoven through vegetal notes, cocoa and dark chocolate. Taut and energetic in texture.
Finish: Long and commanding, driven by bright citrus peel, lingering vanilla and oak, with a subtle herbal nuance that reflects the Folle Blanche’s vivacity.
