The 3rd edition of the Balblair 1991 Vintage, released before the distillery moved away from vintages to age statements. Matured for 27 years in American oak ex-bourbon casks and finished for 3 years in first-fill Spanish oak, ex-sherry butts and bottled in 2018. Naturally coloured and bottled at 46%.

Nose: Expansive and complex with rich citrus fruits and vanilla notes, toffee and chocolate. Honey, winter spices and apricot with just a hint of liquorice in the background.

Palate: Balblair’s signature style of citrus orchard is followed with rich creamy chocolate and layers of stewed apples and pears, Christmas pudding and hot vanilla sauce.

Finish: Orange and toasted coconut overtones, accentuating full-bodied sweetness of vanilla and caramel.

Fruit Bomb

"Rich, deep stewed fruit with great depth and body makes you feel good. Christmas pudding is a great description. I need to be in the right mood for this, but when I am I enjoy it immensely. The finish is long and exceptional. One of my favourite distilleries."

A steal of greatness!

"This is a dram that will blow your mind. The whisky is filled with a sensation of flavors and textures and is definitely worth it. The nose is packet with dried fruits, citrus and a tarty sweetness, the palate is soft and creamy with a hint of toffee apple and vanilla and the finish is long and sweet. It sells at a great price and is a steal for what you get!"

Great dram at great value

"A powerful "Jammy" nose packed full of fruit. Very rich on the palate with tons of fruit cake followed by a very long finish. Conclusion: A perfect after dinner dram."
