"My favourite whisky that has smoke but not too much. Balanced but with lots of flavour and some spice."
"Keep coming back to this whisky every few years and always worth it. Medium smoke and the famous pepperiness, rich and balanced. A classic."
"A thunderstorm of peat and brine and pepper. Serious stuff best served with a dash of water and an hour or two of Wagner's Ring Cycle."
"Fantastic and affordable enough to be drunk fairly regularly. The nose contains campfire smoke, sea salt and caramel. The palate is warm, peppery and sweet and leads into a long and smoky finish. Highly recommended."
"This is really the whisky that got me into whisky, after a short trip to Scotland many years back. Whenever I have a dram I wonder, for a brief moment, why I drink anything else. It is beyond the the quintessential peated malt; it is really the pepper and the wood that sets it apart. Recently it has had some stronger caramel notes, but this has helped balance it, in my view."
"I have heard differing opinions about this one, but for me, there really is no downside. This is quite a brilliant dram for a 10-year-old In terms of the range of flavours and complexity that it delivers. There is everything from the maritime and sometimes slightly medicinally peaty aroma to the sweetness and intense spiciness on the palate, and also a distinct dried fruitiness but not like raisins or dark dried fruits that you so often get, more like dried pears and white fruit mix, at least to my senses. Go ahead and try some!"
"A year or so back, in discussion with a fellow whisky nerd, we were talking about how as we got deeper into our whisky journey, we had somehow forgotten about the standard/core expressions on offer and just how good they are. Cue revisiting old classics like Talisker 10, Glenmorangie 10, Ardbeg 10, anCnoc 12, etc. - these are all brilliant whiskies at brilliant prices when you compare them to other spirits and also some of their more expensive stablemates. This is a brilliant dram and it has taken very little time to establish itself as my go to or 'daily driver' dram - it is simply sublime and there is more than enough going on to keep you interested, but priced well enough you can drink it more often than most. Just love Talisker!"
"My introduction to peated whisky. This Isle of Skye classic is a must have for any peat-loving dram drinker worth his/her salt. Smoke, pepper and crisp salty undertones makes this the perfect seaside companion!"
"I bought this simply because of it being from the ONLY distillery on the Island of Skye... some romantic ring to it. (of course it's Scotch, has pedigree and all the other reasons why we drink this good stuff and all the other reasons are totally valid) Was I surprised! As soon as I opened and smelled the aroma, I knew this is different, this is good. The taste profile is wider, stronger, the alcohol note is softer, there's a hint of the salty sea, oysters, spice,. Hide this one from ANYONE who adds heaps of ice or dare to add water... it is NOT a party drink, it's an occasion. Love this one, my collection will never be without Talisker 10 yo. at this price, YOU better buy!"
