DESCRIPTION

A permanent expression from the Deanston distillery in the Highlands, given a revamp to its current format in 2009. Produced from unpeated malt and matured for 12 years in ex-bourbon casks. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 46.3%. (Bottle size 750ml)

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Fresh hays of summer, malty cereal, rich creamy toffee and honeyed heather, balanced with sweet oak and barley sugar.

Palate: Smooth creamy sweetness with sumptuous hints of fruit, malty honeyed spiciness and soft vanilla.

Finish: Crisp and satisfying with a tingle of cloves which linger, then gently fade.

"Maybe there is just something about drinking whisky on a Friday afternoon but this dram is going down really nicely. It is quite rich in flavor and leaves a nice finish on the palate. Not bad for an entry level whisky. The Virgin oak and higher a bit higher ABV it is a good every day drinking dram."
