DESCRIPTION
An estate-grown Sauvignon Blanc from Karibib in the Polkadraai Hills ward of Stellenbosch, made by Jozua Joubert. He took over the family farm in 2010, after working as a winemaker at Warwick. The grapes come from the farm’s sloping granitic vineyards. They are given extended skin contact for added texture, then fermented with natural yeasts in older oak barrels. The result is a rounder, more textured Sauvignon Blanc than the typical tank-fermented style, with tropical fruit, fresh acidity and a mineral edge. Bottled at 12.5%. (Bottle size 750ml)
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Expressive aromas of tropical fruit, citrus and fresh lemongrass, with subtle herbal undertones.
Palate: Fresh and textured, displaying lively tropical fruit flavours, bright citrus acidity and a delicate flinty minerality. The older oak barrels contribute subtle roundness without overpowering the fruit.
Finish: Clean and refreshing, with lingering citrus, gentle herbal notes and a crisp mineral edge.
