DESCRIPTION
A single cask from the Penderyn distillery in Wales, established in 2000. Unusually for the distillery, this release is made entirely from Welsh barley, distilled in 2015, fully matured for 10 years in a first-fill ex-bourbon hogshead and bottled in 2025. Only 192 bottles were produced. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at a cask strength of 59.9%. (Bottle size 750ml)
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Inviting with vanilla cake and a touch of lemon and peach. Toffee, pear drops, and a hint of herbal grass, complemented by notes of popcorn and banana sweets.
Palate: Bright and fruity with spiced fruits and juicy pineapple. Develops into sweet custard, apples, and creamy vanilla, balanced by nutmeg and gentle pepper spice.
Finish: Long and warming, carrying a lingering brown sugar sweetness.
NOTES FROM THE WB TEAM
This is our second Penderyn exclusive, the first, released in 2023, was matured in a port cask and between the two of them they showcase two very different, but equally delicious, sides from this pioneering Welsh distillery.
