Redesigned in 2016, Tomatin 18yo is matured for 15 years in traditional oak hogsheads before being finished for a minimum of 3 years in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts. Bottled at 46%.
Nose: Sweet sherry with fresh apples, cinnamon, vanilla and hint of heather along with raisins and baked apples.
Palate: Sweet and creamy at first with a hint of oak, honey, apricots and malt, moving on to citrus and dark chocolate.
Finish: Rich and smooth, slightly drying with more malt and bittersweet spices.

"With quite a great selection of 18 year old Scotch available, prices might often be the deciding factor on which bottle to buy. The Tomatin 18 is 1, a great tasting whisky no doubt and 2, a very affordable 18 year old. The fact that it was partly aged in first fill Oloroso Sherry Butts, definitely makes it the one you should buy especially if you enjoy all the flavors that come with that type of cask. The nose is very sherried with raisins, apples and spice. The palate has a great oaky citrus, honey and dried fruit flavor as it finishes off leaving a hint of dryness yet quite sweet note behind. It is worth the buy!"
