Tomatin distillery is a Highland, single malt Scotch whisky producer in the village of Tomatin, established in 1897.
The distillery operated with only two stills until 1958 when it underwent capacity upgrades, eventually reaching production of 12.5 million litres of whisky per year, during the 1970s. By 1987 Tomatin was the largest malt distillery in Scotland but since then capacity has been steadily reduced. Today, the distillery has capacity for 5 million litres, but is producing approximately half of that.
Around 80% of Tomatin's whisky goes to blending, including its own brands of Antiquary and Talisman but in more recent years the distillery has been making an effort to bolster its single malt name.
