"On a recommendation from Foey... This was is outstanding, The CS is just right , the Sherry not overpowering , smoke well balanced. I need another bottle, this wont last long"
"I really love sherried Caol Ila, it is one of the Islay makes that I feel truly works harmoniously with Sherry maturation, with neither overpowering the other. This is a perfect, complex example of this fabulous make, with honey smoked gammon, rich juicy dark fruit, sea salt dark chocolate and caramels, and damp ash. The smoke never overwhelms and is so harmoniously balanced, adding layers and layers of complexity to this delectably moreish dram. Superb, rich, salty, sherry umami heaven. Whisky of the year contender? I certainly think so!"
"if you are looking for a great whisky to remind you of those nights out in the wood, this a perfect dram for that. Blasting with fire wood aroma essence that arises on the nose which is welcomed by the scent of some well roasted nuts. On the palate, if you love that chocolate taste and lingering after tastes of darkish high in cocoa chocolates. Your palate will also appreciate the hints of some lemon zest notes hidden in it. A perfect dram indeed."
"Definately one oT the best peated whiskies I have tried this year , great offering from Caolila. Packed with hints of dark chocolate and cured meat character, a bit of mocha as well. Great complexity on the pallate."
"Best Caol Ila release I have tasted in a long time. The nose is so has this caramelised popcorn note, burnt wood note. Slight syrupy feel on the palate and that lovely Oloroso spice lingers on the tongue. Back of the tongue has this deep dark chocolate note. On this release I am sold. Best Peated Whisky this month."
