DESCRIPTION

Grapes for the Family Reserve Chardonnay were from two carefully selected Stellenbosch vineyard wards with decomposed granite and colluvial Tukulu soils. Positioned within 10 km of the Atlantic, these grapes benefited from cooling breezes that preserved natural acidity despite a warm, dry growing season that advanced bud-break and harvest. Fermentation was split between 400 L French oak barrels and 500 L Italian terracotta, with extended lees contact for 8 months before blending. Residual Sugar: 2.6g/l. Bottled at 13%. TASTING NOTES

Nose: Bright and precise, offering grapefruit pith, wet stone, and subtle flinty minerality, interwoven with gentle hints of toasted almond and soft oak spice. A delicate floral whisper of jasmine underpins the aromatic profile.

Palate: Silky and rounded, with an almost waxy texture that envelops the senses. Layers of white peach, lemon zest, and lightly roasted nuts add depth without dominating, while a gentle grip at the entry gives the wine poise and structure.

Finish: Long, refined, and lingering, marked by lifted jasmine florals and crushed oyster shell minerality. With balanced acidity providing support and lift.
