DESCRIPTION

Released in 2015, Talisker Skye, named after the island on which the distillery resides is matured in a combination of refill and toasted American oak, with a higher proportion of the latter. Bottled at 45.8%. (Bottle size 1 litre)

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Citrus sweetness of fresh oranges develops into soft mango. Maritime air with seaweed, driftwood and salt.

Palate: Soft and sweet at first, coating and tongue tingling, with light smoke. Quickly becomes more pungent and savoury with a hot spiciness.

Finish: Drier and of medium-length, with a lasting, smooth aftertaste, in which light peaty burnt embers can be found.

IT'S A GOOD ONE!

"I recently bought this Whisky and somehow expected it to be better than the Talisker 10yo, which it isn't, however, it's a good one. it is smoky, peaty, but I expected to "almost" taste the sea as in the 10yo, but it's less. I'd like to now get the Storm and compare to see who's best, maybe with Storm the hint of "sea" side is more prevalent. I have a feeling the 10yo will remain the champ."
