DESCRIPTION

From north-west and north-east facing slopes on the Helderberg in Stellenbosch, The Mira Chardonnay 2023 grows in decomposed granite soils of Oakleaf and Tukulu at 385 metres above sea level, just 9 km from False Bay’s cooling influence. Following a cool, wet season that required careful canopy management, the hand-harvested fruit was matured for 9 months in French oak barrels, 30% new, before bottling. Residual sugar 2.38g/l. Bottled at 13%. (Bottle size 750ml)

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Creamy aromas of whipped citrus curd and delicate orange blossom unfold, joined by ripe white peach and nutty nougat biscotti, all lifted by a savoury maritime salinity.

Palate: Concentrated yet graceful, showing layers of blood orange and almond with a flicker of naartjie zest. Seashell minerality and a creamy mid-palate give depth while keeping the fruit pure and focused.

Finish: A dry, lingering close where bright acidity refreshes, leaving subtle whispers of white peach.
