DESCRIPTION
Trizanne Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge Pinot Noir 2024 is sourced from two contrasting vineyards: one just below the Kleinrivier Mountains in the Overberg and the other on the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge. Harvested between late February and early March 2024, grapes were cooled overnight, destemmed and transferred to open-top fermenters for a cold soak before natural fermentation. Gentle daily punch-downs ensured delicate extraction, and after fermentation the wine remained on skins for two weeks before basket pressing into French oak. Maturation took place over 10 months before bottling in early 2025 under natural cork. Production was limited to 2,822 bottles. Bottled at 12.5%. (Bottle size 750ml)
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Fragrant and refined, opening with rose petal, wild strawberry and raspberry, lifted by black tea and aniseed spice. Crushed herbs and earthy undertones reflect the cool-climate origin.
Palate: Silky and poised, with vibrant red berry fruit layered with spice and savoury complexity. Gentle extraction and oak maturation deliver fine-grained structure and harmony.
Finish: Long and elegant, with smooth tannins and bright acidity. A wine of delicacy and persistence, promising graceful evolution in bottle.
