Three Ships 7yo Moscato Cask Finish is the first of its kind release! A retail exclusive, selected by and bottled for WhiskyBrother. The peated single malt was matured for 5 years in refill casks and then spent the last 2 years in a Moscato cask (a fortified wine similar to Moscatel sherry). Only 716 bottles were produced, each individually numbered. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at a high strength of 55.1%. (Please note this release does not have a box/tube.)

Nose: Smouldering hay with burnt brown sugar, sultanas, dried apricots and fresh oak shavings.

Palate: Smoke intensifies to a veld fire and the sweetness softens with generous amounts of nutmeg, ginger and cayenne pepper spice.

Finish: Long and intense with lingering smoke, dried fruit sweetness and chili chocolate.

A decent Special Release

"My collection now includes this guy, and while it's certainly not the best within the collection, it is a decent whiskey. The first sip is a bit harsh, but this baby develops so well on your palate within a few seconds. That Moscato complexity really shines through. A decent 7 year old from the best distillery in SA."

Brilliant

"I had ordered this from WB before tasting it with Andy Watts at the distillery during a wonderful evening tasting. I love the sweet fruit and sugar on the nose, the sweet and spice on the palate and the wonderful smooth and long finish - all with touches of smoke that linger. My favourite Three Ships/Bains/JSD release from 2019 and the decision was a tough one given the range and quality that has been released during the year. Looking forward to more - buy this while you can!!"

Stellar dram from JSD

"Very different from your regular dram, lots of hidden complexity. Take your time and savour it."

The Best of the WB exclusives!!

"By a country mile, this is the best Whiskybrother exclusive release that I have had the privilege of tasting! On the nose, what I can only describe as a wonderfully smoky, almost ashy/ forest fire peat with incredibly inviting toasted oak and some spice. On the palate, a big hit of that thoroughly enjoyable peat at first which balances with lovely notes of sweet green Apple and butterscotch. The finish is long, spicy, and incredibly satisfying. What a phenomenal, full bodied whisky that is full of complexity yet incredibly balanced and enjoyable. One just gets lost in enjoyment with this dram. It is dangerously moreish. I cannot recommend highly enough!"
