Only seven rows of biodynamically farmed Cabernet Franc are used for this small batch wine. The Oudeberg vineyard is located on a south facing slope in the Polkadraai Hills and soil health is maintained with cover crop mixes and the farm's ducks. Hand-picked grapes, half incorporated as whole bunches, were naturally fermented in open-top vessels with regular punch-downs before being basket pressed and allowed to undergo malolactic fermentation in barrel. The wine was aged in seasoned (old) French oak barrels for 11 months. Bottled at 13%. (Bottle size 750ml)

Nose: Capsicum, red cherries, blackberries and violets on the nose.

Palate: Lovely concentrated fruit flavours on entry, cherries, blackberries and cassis.

Finish: Chalky tannins with lingering notes of dried herbs.
