DESCRIPTION

Smokkelman Red is blended from a hand-picked selection of barrels from some of the Cape’s most prestigious cellars. Predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon from the Helderberg matured for two years in older oak. Blended with parcels from Elgin and Vlottenburg in Stellenbosch and finished with Cinsault from an old block in Agter Paarl. Bottled at 14%. (Bottle size 750ml)

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Fruit forward nose with beautiful notes of cherries and raspberries. Hints of tomato/ketchup powder and cedar wood.

Palate: Elegant and fruit driven, cherries, plums and blackberry.

Finish: Soft tannin structure with a refreshing vibrancy.

Smokkelman is a collaboration between Solitary Wines and Sonn & Co made on the Karibib wine farm in the Polkadraai Hill just outside Stellenbosch. The type of wine you will not find in every retail store.
