R de Ruinart Brut NV is a blend composed of 40% Chardonnay, 49% Pinot Noir and 11% Pinot Meunier grapes sourced mainly from Côtes des Blancs and Vallée de la Marne vineyards. To create depth and complexity, 20-25% is reserve wines from 2 previous vintages. Grapes are hand-picked to ensure the best bunches are harvested and used. Primary fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks and secondary fermentation in their iconic bottles. Bottles are left to ferment and age for 3-4 years in Ruinart "crayères", chalk cellars which are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where they will enjoy the best conditions for aging: cathedral-height ceilings, a cool temperature, and beneficial darkness with absolutely no vibrations. After disgorgement, they are topped up with a dosage of 9g/l, sealed and then left for a further 6-9 months in bottle before release. Bottled at 12%. (Bottle size 750ml)

Nose: Delicate with notes of fresh ripe fruit, apples and white pear. Beautiful nuances of Viennese pastries, buttered brioche and freshly baked croissants.

Palate: Vibrant fruit on entry notes of pear and nectarines. Mid-palate reveals toasted brioche notes with a hint of butter.

Finish: Refreshing acidity with lingering notes of toasted almonds and hazelnuts.

Ruinart is the oldest established Champagne house, exclusively producing champagne since 1729. Founded by Nicolas Ruinart in the Champagne region in the city of Reims, the house is today owned by LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton).
