The Port Ellen distillery was closed in 1983 and has since become one of the world's most sought after whiskies for drinkers and collectors. Distilled in March 1983, matured for 35 years in a single sherry hogshead and bottled in March 2019. Only 128 bottles were produced. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at a natural cask strength of 54.3%.
Nose: Shows a wonderfully smoky character alongside burnt brown sugar and cured meats.
Palate: Full of mocha/cocoa, BBQ smoke and stewed dried fruits.
Finish: The finish goes on and on with rich spices, peat and treacle.
