The home of this champagne is located in Mareuil-le-Port, north of Igny-Comblizy by the Marne River in Epernay. The vineyards have a rich chalky subsoil and benefit from both the oceanic rains and continental summers. This non-vintage Brut is a blend of 35% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir and 30% Pinot Meunier. The base wine is fermented in both stainless steel and oak vats. On average it spends at least 2 years on the lees before disgorgement. Residual sugar: 7-7.5g/l. Bottled at 12%. (Bottle size 750ml)

PIAFF originates from the French word Piaffe. A Piaffe was a move originally used in battle to keep horses warm on the spot, helping them remain focused on what’s ahead and ready to move forward. Now, it’s better known as a Grand Prix, cadenced dressage move, where a horse playfully and rhythmically moves opposite hooves in perfect synchronisation. Introduced in 2015, Champagne Piaff is the brainchild of Laurie Kempster and Maxime Mansard. Laurie is a South African forensic accountant and winemaker. Her partner Maxime is the fifth-generation of the Champagne-producing family, the Mansards.

Palate: Elegant yet lively, opens with fruit notes of pear which evolves into with a complex vanilla and brioche note.

Finish: Lingering beautiful toasty notes with a hint of oak.
