Hailing from one of Scotland's most northerly distilleries, Old Pulteney resides in the old fishing village of Wick. Pulteney's whiskies are known for their gentle honeyed, vanilla sweetness, and a touch of marzipan nuttiness. The distinctive slightly salty tang tells of the distillery's home by the sea. A great introductory dram for those new to whisky. Bottled at 43%.
Nose: Crisp and clean with a whiff of sea air. Great balance with notes of barley grist, almonds and a slightly herbal tone (think parsley).
Palate: Dry, medium bodied and smooth, redolent of honey and cream, faintly salty with a slight spicy note and a sweet long-lasting finish.
Finish: Medium finish with oak and spice.
