The Neethlingshof The Caracal Red Blend is a premium Bordeaux-style blend from Neethlingshof Wine Estate in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Named after the elusive Caracal (Rooikat), the wine celebrates the estate's commitment to biodiversity and the restoration of indigenous Renosterveld, providing a natural habitat for this iconic wild cat. Crafted predominantly from Cabernet Sauvignon with complementary Bordeaux varieties, the blend is matured in French oak to develop depth, structure and elegance. Full-bodied and age-worthy, it showcases the classic character of Stellenbosch with concentrated dark fruit, refined tannins and well-integrated oak. Bottled at 14% ABV.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Rich aromas of blackcurrant, black plum and sour black cherry are complemented by notes of white pepper, cigar box, leather and subtle oak spice.

Palate: An elegant yet full-bodied palate reveals layers of blackberry, mulberry and sour black cherry, supported by savoury notes, firm yet polished tannins and beautifully integrated French oak.

Finish: Long and persistent with lingering dark fruit, savoury spice and a refined, structured finish that promises excellent cellaring potential.
