DESCRIPTION

The Morgenster Tosca 2021 is a distinctive Super Tuscan-inspired red blend from Morgenster Estate in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Produced as part of The Giulio Range, the wine combines 65% Sangiovese, 31% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Cabernet Franc, marrying Italian elegance with Stellenbosch fruit intensity. Following partial maturation of the individual components, the final blend was matured for 12 months in French oak barrels, 20% of which were new, resulting in a beautifully balanced wine with vibrant fruit, silky tannins and refined complexity. Bottled at 13.5% ABV.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Fragrant aromas of ripe red berries, dried cherries and blackcurrant are layered with rosemary, thyme, tobacco, cinnamon and subtle oak spice.

Palate: Medium- to full-bodied with flavours of red cherry, plum and cassis, complemented by hints of coffee, savoury herbs and gentle spice. Velvety tannins and fresh acidity provide excellent balance and a refined texture.

Finish: Long, smooth and elegant, with lingering red fruit, savoury spice and finely integrated French oak that carries through to a polished finish.
