A single vineyard wine named after a vulnerable listed species endemic to the Agulhas Region, Amarylis Belladonna. Lomond Belladonna SMV 2017 consists of 79% Shiraz, 15% Mouvedre and 6% Viognier. The Syrah was fermented dry in stainless steel tanks, transferred to barrels for malolactic fermentation and aging. The Mourvèdre was fermented in 500 kg open bins followed by malolactic fermentation and aging in 300-litre barrels. The Viognier spent the first third of fermentation in stainless steel tanks before being transferred to old 300-litre barrels for the remainder. The wine was left to mature further in a combination of new and older French Oak for between 12 and 14 months before being blended to obtain the optimum blend. Bottled at 14%. (Bottle size 750ml)
