Released in regular batches, the Lagavulin Distillers Edition undergoes a finishing period in ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry casks, each release denoted by the distillation and bottling date. Although a standard release in the range, it is generally not available in SA. This release was distilled in 2002 and bottled in 2018. Bottled at 43%.

Nose: Satisfying and enticing; intense peat, vanilla. A raisiny sweetness checks the smoke. Crisp, toasty malt.

Palate: Sweet and luscious; clear malt, smoke fills the mouth. Very salty tang; coffee, vanilla, a glimmer of fruit.

Finish: Incredibly long, even for Islay. Fruit, peat, and long-lasting oak. Very engaging and enjoyable.
