DESCRIPTION

A 2022 Châteauneuf-du-Pape AOC red wine produced and estate bottled by Château La Nerthe in the Southern Rhône, France. The estate dates to 1560 and its certified organic vineyards have an average vine age of more than 40 years. The 2022 blend comprises 40% Grenache, 35% Syrah, 20% Mourvèdre and 5% Cinsault. Grapes are harvested by hand, partially destemmed and undergo approximately four weeks of maceration. The wine is matured for 12 months in a combination of French oak foudres, vats and barrels before blending, followed by a further six months before bottling. Bottled at 13.5% ABV.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Blackcurrant and blueberry with graphite and light smoky notes.

Palate: Ripe dark fruit with supple, silky tannins, peppery spice and restrained oak. Full-bodied yet balanced, with a smooth texture.

Finish: Long and mineral, with lingering dark fruit, pepper and subtle smoky notes.
