DESCRIPTION

Our first official collaboration with the Isle of Raasay distillery, which, although only founded in 2017, has quickly established itself as a must-drink whisky producer. The peated spirit was distilled in 2021, fully matured in an ex-Oloroso sherry quarter cask, and bottled earlier this year in 2025. Only 156 bottles were produced. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured, and bottled at a cask strength of 59.7%.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: An evident but medium peat of sweet wood smoke pours out brimming with red fruits-both fresh and dried.

Palate: A rich and full dram, with more dried fruits, mixed salted nuts and a hint of chocolate. The alcohol is very shy with the intense flavours keeping any signs of it at bay.

Finish: Mouth-coating with soft pepper and spice emerging, and drying oak char on the very end.

NOTES FROM THE WB TEAM

Yes, this is only a 4 year old whisky, but we are 99.99% sure that no one would know or could tell. If you've tried any Raasay releases (which we've done our best to make available sporadically in SA), then you know the distillery is doing a phenomenal job with their whisky. If you haven't tried it yet, you are seriously missing out - and now you have one more reason to be tempted.

Stupidly Good Whisky!

"Ordered this as soon as it released. Could not wait to get home and try it! Layer upon layer of balanced, rich, rewarding flavor. Fruit & nut chocolate, gooey creme caramel, luscious blackcurrant. All wrapped up in a medium wood style smoke- think salmon smoking near an oak fire! The smoke is so well integrated it’s scary. Tasting this blind, you would not be mistaken to mistake this for a 30 year old Ardbeg or Laphroaig. Utterly superb!"

Instant Classic

"I am a fan of Raasay and its been an honour being a part of the journey and getting to know the character of the distillery as the whisky matures. This release is by far my favourite so far-so well done to the team and WB! A peat and sherry cuddly monster. The abv is well-controlled, the flavour full on and moreish, and all wrapped up in an easy-to-drink, balanced dram. Magic!"
