DESCRIPTION

The Hidden Valley Hidden Secret Syrah 2020 is the flagship Syrah-led Rhône-style blend from Hidden Valley Wines, situated on the north-western slopes of the Helderberg in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Produced from carefully selected estate-grown vineyards, the 2020 vintage reflects the estate's focus on elegant, terroir-driven red blends. The wine was matured in French oak barrels, allowing the rich fruit, savoury spice and refined tannin structure to integrate harmoniously while preserving freshness and balance. Bottled at 14.0% ABV.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Bold aromas of dark plum, blackcurrant and ripe blackberries are layered with hints of sweet spice, leather and well-integrated French oak.

Palate: Rich and beautifully balanced, showcasing concentrated dark fruit flavours supported by silky, velvety tannins. Subtle notes of cracked black pepper, spice and lively acidity add freshness and complexity while maintaining an elegant structure.

Finish: Long, smooth and persistent, with lingering dark berry fruit, gentle oak spice and a touch of pepper carrying through to a refined, balanced finish.
