The pinnacle of the Glenmorangie core range was The Quarter Century 25yo, matured in an equal combination of three different types of casks: American white oak ex-bourbon, Spanish oak ex-sherry and French red wine barrels (usually burgundy). The 25yo has been discontinued by the distillery and replaced with the Grand Vintages. Bottled at 43%.

Nose: Deep and rich with dark fruits, hints of chocolate, coffee, a slight nuttiness and notes of leather.

Palate: Big and full-flavoured. Forest fruits burst on the tongue with mouth-watering blackberries and redcurrants emerging with almond marzipan, delicate citrus, lots of spice and hints of coconut.

Finish: Long and gentle, with blackberries and warming spices.
