butterscotch bomb
"Absolute beast, lovely first fill bourbon example, real butterscotch bomb"
This release is a WhiskyBrother exclusive; selected by our team, bottled for us, and not available anywhere else in the world.
Our third release with independent bottler Berry Bros. & Rudd (BBR), a British wine and spirits merchant that dates back over 300 years to 1698. This single cask is from the Glenlossie distillery in Speyside, and is presented with the new BBR label design. Distilled in 2010, matured for 13 years in a first-fill ex-bourbon hogshead and bottled in late 2023. Only 277 bottles were produced. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at a cask strength of 51.4%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: Rich flavours of spiced crème brulee, fresh apples, lime zest, vanilla pods, and clove rock.
Palate: Waves of fresh shortbread, wood spice, fresh fruit, and a touch of new leather. Wood-forward in the best of ways with the alcohol integrating beautifully with its rich character.
Finish: Cinnamon and cloves linger on the finish, leaving one thoroughly impressed and in the mood for a second dram!
Glenlossie, established in Speyside in 1876, is one of the many Scotch distilleries belonging to drinks giant Diageo. Primarily used in blends, most notably Haig Gold Label which is unavailable in SA, it is rarely found as a single malt release. This marks not only the first time we've had an exclusive release from this distillery but also the first time it's even been available on our shelves!

"Very delicious. Great mouthfeel, creamy, fresh fruit and sweet spice, finish is nutty and long lasting."

"Been waiting for this since I tried it at the bar this week and the guys told me this is dropping soon. Now that it is online, my order is already in! Sure to be a crowd pleaser with spiced custard, Haribo gummi sweats and cheesecake. Although a sweet profile its a rich and full-bodied whisky. A stunner. 💫"

"Phenomenal aromatics, lots of honey, peach, croissants, cinnamon, lime zest and apricots. It kept evolving and opening up with time and touch of water. Palate follows through from the nose, delicious and powerful on entry. Personally the finish only let down of the whole experience, it had a slight almond bitterness. But that didn't deter me from punishing a third of the bottle on the first day 😋"

"A mouthwateringly creamy, dusty, peach dessert in a glass! This dram truly reminded me why I love Whisky! An absolute peach, no pun intended 😉"
