The Glenlivet 50yo Winchester Collection was distilled in 1966, matured in ex-sherry casks and bottled on 25th May 2016. Only 100 bottles were produced globally with four being available in SA. The whisky was first put in cask by former Glenlivet master distiller Robert Arthur and is being released under current incumbent Alan Winchester, after whom the series is named. Bottled at cask strength of 48.9%.
The purchaser of this bottle will receive an all expenses paid trip to Scotland to tour of The Glenlivet distillery with master distillery Alan Winchester.
Nose: Bursting with sherry cask notes, you are instantly welcomed by sweet and rich treacle, raisins and apricot jam.
Palate: An abundance of soft fruits, sweet treacle and juicy orange, intermingled with cinnamon and liquorice adding a layer of delicate spice. Starting from the first sip, a sweet texture envelops the palate.
Finish: Exceptionally luscious with a long smooth finish, and a hint of dryness
