More from New Whisky Arrivals
Released in 2023, this is a permanently expression from the Glenglassaugh distillery in the Highlands, taking its name from the neighbouring harbour town on Scotland’s rugged northeast coast. This peated single malt is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon, sherry and port casks. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 49.1%.
Nose: Smouldering bonfire smoke wrapped around treacle, salted caramel and roasted nuts, lifted by coastal brine and dark chocolate.
Palate: Full-bodied and oily with waves of rich smoke, espresso, sea salt and stewed fruits layered over toffee sweetness.
Finish: Long, warming and savoury-sweet, with lingering peat embers, maritime salt and hints of cocoa and oak spice.
