Our 27th exclusive release is a wonderful GlenDronach single malt. Distilled on 3 March 2008, matured in an ex-sherry (Pedro Ximénez) puncheon and bottled earlier this year in 2020. Only 644 bottles were produced. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at a cask strength of 63.7%! (Bottle size 750ml)

Nose: Buttered raisin and olive bread with oak balsam and ginger. Feisty and spicy!

Palate: Raisin and crystallised ginger with crème-caramel. The high alcohol pleasantly restrained on the palate.

Finish: Very long. Sweet, spicy and gingery.

This is our 2nd GlenDronach exclusive release, with the first release available over 4 years ago (2016) and long sold-out. Interestingly, the first release was under the watchful eye of then master distiller Billy Walker, while our new release is under the stewardship of new master distiller Dr Rachel Barrie.

Single Cask Heaven!

"A question I always ask myself when tasting a whisky is: should one, buy one? The answer here is no, one should not buy one. One should buy 12. Such utter richness: raisins, sultanas, old leather, caramel and ginger balanced with spice throughout. The nose is the highlight for me, it reminds me of aged Ben Nevis! This Whisky is so complex yet refined with a velvety smooth mouthfeel. Simply superb! One of the best single casks I’ve tasted. Whiskybrother, you guys have once again outdone yourselves."

"As always the WB team delivers. I had a bottle of the first WB GlenDronach which sadly was finished during the first lockdown period. So was glad to hear a new one was on the way. Not your typical GlenDronach though this one. Massive abv, but for me, really not that obvious after the first sampling. I get lovely spiced/sherried rasins and fruit - not quite the usual sherry bomb, something a little different and more restrained. Very smooth and caramelly in the mouth, I also gets hints of chocolate - almost an unusual type of Caramello Bear (with a bit of a punch). Touch of heat in there - white pepper perhaps? If I did not know the abv, would not have guessed it on the second sip. Lovely long finish that goes forever - again, spicy notes, for me that caramel stays. Really love this one."
