Launched for the travel retail market in 2021 as part of the No Corners to Hide limited series of whiskies from the Bowmore distillery. Inspired by the myths and legends from the remote island of Islay, this limited-edition single malt is a collaboration between acclaimed graphic artist Frank Quitely, who has illustrated for Marvel and DC Comics, and Bowmore’s Master Blender, Ron Welsh. Matured for 21 years in ex-bourbon American oak hogsheads and finished for 2 years in Essencia barriques, a peculiarly rare 'Rose Oak' dating back to the 1830s. Each bottle and presentation box features illustrations and sketches by the artist. 6,666 bottles were produced. Bottled at 51.5%.
Nose: Medicinal, floral, and spicy, with fragrance of white roses, peonies, sweet peas, and gardenias.
Palate: Sweet notes of golden syrup, acacia honey and marzipan with peaty sooty taste and oily peppery mouthfeel.
Finish: Subtle peat smoke, brine and oak.
