Aerolite Lyndsay, an anagram of the words 'ten year old Islay', was the first release from independent bottler Character of Islay Whisky Company, a sister company to That Boutique-y Whisky Company. A peated single malt distilled at an undisclosed distillery on Islay and matured for 10 years in a combination of bourbon barrels and Spanish oak sherry quarter casks. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 46%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: Meaty, with fragrant maple sweetness and salted caramel, big chipotle spices, tangy cheese, a strong medicinal note, hint of leather.
Palate: Refreshing menthol, intense dark chocolate, sweet BBQ smoke.
Finish: Cloying mint, hints of liquorice and anise, lingering charcoal and ash, caramel boiled sweets.
