DESCRIPTION

A limited-production, old-vine Chenin Blanc from Roodekrantz, made from a single vineyard in the Helderberg area of Stellenbosch. The fruit comes from dryland bush vines planted in 1984 on sandy, decomposed granite soils, which naturally keep yields low. The grapes were hand-harvested in the early morning, gently pressed and fermented in older French oak barrels, then matured for 11 months on fine lees. It is made in a restrained, fruit-focused style. Only 1,550 bottles were produced. Rated 94/100 by Winemag. Bottled at 12.5%. (Bottle size 750ml)

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Elegant aromas of grenadilla, orange blossom, pineapple and fresh citrus zest.

Palate: Fresh and precise, displaying peach, citrus and passion fruit, with vibrant acidity and a refined, balanced texture.

Finish: Long and delicate, with lingering notes of green apple and ripe stone fruit, supported by clean acidity.
