Sourced from mature 25 to 40 year old Chardonnay vines planted on the cooler south and east facing slopes of the Stellenbosch Kloof ward, this 2024 vintage draws on the moderating maritime influence of False Bay, with vineyards situated between 250 and 310 metres above sea level. A mix of Davis and Burgundian clones are planted in Glenrosa and Hutton soils across varying aspects. The site encourages both structure and depth. Harvested between the 26th and 30th of January at an average of 23° Balling to capture a spectrum of ripeness and flavour intensity. The juice was barrel fermented in 228-litre Burgundy-shaped French oak barrels, with 24% new oak, 45% second-fill and the balance in older Nevers and Burgundian barrels, before maturing on the lees for nine months with occasional barrel rolling to build texture and integration. This multi-layered approach to site, clone, and élevage results in a wine of both precision and breadth. Residual Sugar 3.0g/L. Bottled at 13% (Bottle size 750ml).

Nose: Expressive and inviting, with aromas of lemon biscuit, ripe citrus, and overripe orange peel layered alongside hints of toasted brioche, vanilla pod, and a gentle touch of roasted nuts.

Palate: Generous yet composed, revealing a core of citrus and stone fruit supported by a creamy, lees-driven texture. Flavours of baked apple, orange zest, and subtle spice unfold with a rounded, integrated oak influence that adds depth without overwhelming the fruit.

Finish: Long and structured, where a bright line of acidity carries the wine through a persistent close. A fine, savoury grip and lingering notes of citrus peel, toasted almond, and soft oak spice leave a polished, well-balanced impression.
